including the mysterious appearance of a stranger, crew members vanishing, and a storm wreaking havoc.
As the crew realizes they are being hunted by a supernatural creature, the captain bravely fights to the
end, leaving a message in a bottle. The film expands on these events, introducing characters like a doctor,

Everything We Know So Far
After a lengthy development process, “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” has finally found its footing.
Bragi F. Schut penned the story and screenplay back in 2002, but the project faced numerous hurdles over
the years. Several directors and actors, including Viggo Mortensen, Ben Kingsley, and Noomi Rapace,
were attached at different stages. Director André Øvredal took charge in 2019, with a screenplay by Bragi
and Zak Olkewicz.
Produced by Brad Fischer, Mike Medavoy, and Arnold Messer, the film involves multiple production
companies, including Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures. Principal photography took place in
