Modigliani. The film, starring Riccardo Scamarcio, Pierre Niney, and Al Pacino, will begin filming in
Budapest during autumn 2023. The production will be overseen by Proton Cinema in Hungary. The
project, a collaboration between producer Barry Navidi, Johnny Depp’s IN.2.Films, Infinitum Nihil, Salome
Productions, and The Veterans, was showcased at Cannes’ Marché du Film. The screenplay, co-written by
Jerzy Kromolowski and Mary Kromolowski, focuses on a 48-hour period in 1916 Paris in Modigliani’s life.
Depp confirmed that the film will be shot in both Budapest and Paris. Additionally, he announced that Al
Pacino will portray art collector Maurice Gangnat, with Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani and Pierre
Niney as Maurice Utrillo.
