Jennifer is back as Elektra in Deadpool 3 after a 20-year break. Ryan Reynolds is reprising his role as
Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine, despite his previous retirement from Marvel roles.
The film, which is being directed by Shawn Levy and will be the first to use characters from the Marvel
stable that were previously owned by 20th Century Fox, will star Jennifer Lawrence returning as Elektra.
The movie rights to these characters were transferred back to Marvel following Disney’s 2019 acquisition
of Fox. With the release of this movie, these characters will officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the 2003 movie Daredevil, directed by 20th Century Fox and starring Ben Affleck as the Man Without
Fear, Garner debuted as the Marvel assassin. Despite the film’s lackluster performance, it inspired the
sequel Elektra, in which Garner played the lead role two years later.
Jennifer is back as Elektra for Deadpool 3
Jennifer Garner’s return as Elektra in Deadpool 3 suggests the potential introduction of a multiverse
concept. It is possible that other characters from Marvel films produced by Fox could also make cameo
appearances, given the nature of Deadpool and its meta elements. Marvel has not commented on these
speculations.
During Garner’s initial portrayal of Elektra, she was simultaneously starring as Sydney Bristow in the ABC
thriller Alias, which aired from 2001 to 2006. In recent years, Garner has appeared in various films,
including the popular Netflix movie Yes Day in 2021. She also appeared alongside Ryan Reynolds in The
Adam Project, directed by Shawn Levy.
Garner has also made an appearance in the Party Down reboot and served as the lead actress and
executive producer for the limited series The Last Thing He Told Me on Apple TV+. She is represented by
CAA (Creative Artists Agency) and Linden Entertainment, with Jason Sloane and Harris Hartman from
Sloane Offer as her management team.
Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, and Kevin Feige of Marvel are in charge of producing Deadpool 3. Reynolds,
Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Zeb Wells wrote the movie’s screenplay. To complete the project, a
group of talented people join forces in this joint effort.
