The Plot

key plot details. The story unfolds in 1945 in Gyeongseong (later Seoul) during Japanese colonial rule. It
revolves around two intriguing characters: Jang Tae Sang (played by Park Seo Joon) and Yoon Chae Ok
(played by Han So Hee).
Tae Sang is a wealthy and charismatic figure in Bukchon, Gyeongseong, known for his sharp wit and
knowledge. He runs the Golden Treasure Pawnshop smoothly until he encounters Chae Ok, leading to a
dramatic change in his life.
Chae Ok, nicknamed “Todugun,” is renowned for finding missing persons. Her upbringing, moving
between Shanghai and Manchuria with her father, toughened her, and she learned to survive in perilous
situations. Her mother’s mysterious disappearance prompts Chae Ok to train in combat skills, becoming
the indispensable Todugun. When the two cross paths, they uncover a chilling reality involving monstrous
creatures born from human greed, linked to the missing persons’ cases. With Tae Sang’s intellect and
sociability and Chae Ok’s survival skills, they embark on a quest to confront these creatures for their own
gains.
