reported to be in development at DreamWorks back in 2010, with director Martin Campbell and a

distribution deal with Disney’s Touchstone Pictures Later, in 2013, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was in

talks to star, with McG directing, but the project faced development challenges.

In September 2020, it was announced that David Leitch and Ryan Gosling would collaborate on a film

centered around a stuntman, although the title was not revealed at that time. Two years later, Universal

officially greenlit the project, confirming it as an adaptation of the television series.

David Leitch, known for stylish action films, has become a reliable name in Hollywood, particularly for his

work on “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Deadpool 2,” and “Bullet Train.” He will both direct and produce

the film through his production company, 87North. The screenplay is penned by Drew Pearce, known for

his work on “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw” and “Iron Man 3.” The director of photography is

Jonathan Sela, who has worked on all of Leitch’s films, including “John Wick” and “Deadpool 2.” The film is
