Joss Whedon’s adaptation of the Avengers for the DC Extended Universe was mostly met with disappointment, despite a challenging trip to the big screen. Although Zack Snyder’s four-hour reduction was a huge improvement, it was too big to watch for anybody except the most diehard nerds. What impact does that have on the release date of Justice League 2? Will it occur at all?

Bad news: Warner Bros. has confirmed they’re not making Justice League 2. The studio announced in July

2022 that they wouldn’t continue the Snyderverse. WarnerMedia’s CEO, Ann Sarnoff, mentioned in

March 2021:: that they’re happy with Zack Snyder’s trilogy but won’t be expanding it. Instead, they’re

If Justice League 2 were to happen, we would expect the return of the main heroes, with Ray Porter

reprising his role as Darkseid. Wayne T Carr, originally intended to be the Green Lantern John Stewart, was

replaced by Martian Manhunter in the Snyder Cut. The core cast would likely include Henry Cavill, Ben

Affleck, and Gal Gadot.

Ray Fisher’s return as Cyborg is uncertain due to allegations against Warner Bros. executives and director

Joss Whedon. Fisher’s involvement in The Flash movie was in question following a Twitter statement, and

he may no longer be part of the Cyborg role.

The potential Justice League 2 cast could feature:

Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash
Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman
Ray Porter as Darkseid

The Plot

What will Justice League 2 be about?

Justice League 2, if it had been made, would have depicted the battle against Darkseid, who would have

brainwashed Superman to oppose the Justice League. Zack Snyder had plans for new movies and shared

details about the fight against Darkseid before Warner Bros. decided not to proceed with the sequel.

Snyder’s vision included Darkseid killing Lois Lane to manipulate Superman through the Anti-Life

Equation, a tool that would allow the villain to enslave the galaxy In this alternate future, a “ragtag”

Justice League would aim to steal another Motherbox, cosmic technology, from Darkseid’s world,

Apokolips, to enable The Flash to travel back in time and prevent Lois’ death.

Ben Affleck’s Batman would have sacrificed himself to save Lois, ultimately guiding Superman back to his

traditional path of truth, justice, and the American way. This would set the stage for the epic showdown

with Darkseid in Justice League 3. The third film would have featured Superman leading a united army of

Amazons, Atlanteans, men, and other heroes are in a battle to determine the fate of the universe.

Snyder’s concept held the potential for an exceptional superhero movie, although DC films have always

been known for their ambitious ideas, even if the outcomes haven’t always been flawless.
