The film has finished filming in July 2022. Many images of Chastain and Hathaway have been making the rounds online, showing the actresses in outfits and hairdos of the 1960s. The actress from Devil Wears Prada left Cannes in early 2022 after her debut in the festival so that she could return to work on the project set in New Jersey.

The cast members of Mothers’ Instinct besides Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain are Anders Danielson Lie, and Josh Charles, who will be playing the roles of the husbands of Chastain and Hathaway. The distribution rights of the film have been acquired by NEON and Chastain, Hathaway, Kelly Carmichael are the producer along with Jacques-Henri Bronckart and Paul Nelson of Mosaic.
