We also learned that the spin-off series of Sonic the Hedgehog will be available for streaming starting on April 26. Knuckles will be available for streaming on April 26 for subscribers with Paramount+ in the US and Canada, and it will be added to the libraries of other territories on April 27. All of this is not the case for Japan, where a release is anticipated for later this year.
The Cast And Crew
Idris Elba returns as the voice of Knuckles, showcasing his underrated talent in voice acting. Joining him are Adam Pally, Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, and Ellie Taylor. Guest appearances include Rory McCann, Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and Tika Sumpter. Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel also join in undisclosed roles. The series doesn’t confirm James Marsden’s return as Tom Wachowski.
The Plot
Idris Elba’s character, Knuckles, is an action-packed comic adventure with a self-discovery theme. Wade (Adam Pally) is chosen by Knuckles to be his protégé and learn the ways of the Echidna warrior.

On February 8, 2024, the first trailer for Knuckles was unveiled. The two-and-a-half-minute teaser gives us a fantastic glimpse into Knuckles’s life following the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. As a guardian of Earth, our beloved red echidna is leading the life of his dreams. However, Knuckles needs to get ready for another battle as a new Robotnik colleague makes his appearance.
Who Is Making Knuckles?
The Knuckles series was filmed in London, England, with John Whittington as the head writer and executive producer. Jeff Fowler directs the pilot episode and executive produces alongside Toby Ascher, Neal H. Moritz, and Idris Elba. Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone, and Carol Banker are set to direct episodes. Paramount Pictures collaborates with Sega of America for production.
