Disney’s Alien installment, Alien: Romulus, initially raised eyebrows but is now highly anticipated. Directed by Federico Álvarez, excitement is growing as the release nears. With the success of Prey, 20th Century Studios seems well-equipped for the task. Here’s what we know about Álvarez’s upcoming film Alien: Romulus release date, cast, plot, and more.
Alien: Romulus release date
Fortunately, fans of horror films won’t have to wait long for the highly awaited film to arrive in theaters because Alien: Romulus is slated for release on August 16, 2024. This release date, of course, made the sci-fi production eligible for the horror film watchlist that we are most anticipating this year; at least now we have something to look forward to during the summer.

The Cast And Crew
The ensemble of rising talent in the new horror movie, which includes Aileen Wu, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, Isabela Merced, and Cailee Spaeny as Madame Web, Shadow and Bone, and Priscilla, is one of its most alluring features. And while fans have not let up on the possibility that Sigourney Weaver, a franchise mainstay, will return for another Alien film, the likelihood that she won’t appears quite high.
The Plot
A brief overview of the movie’s plot states that it revolves around “a group of young people on a distant world who find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” yet specifics about its idea have often been kept under wraps. Furthermore, according to actor Cailee Spaeny, the plot and spine-tingling events of the film are anticipated to occur canonically between the 1979 film Alien and the 1986 film Aliens. Furthermore, given the history of previous Alien films, it is only natural that a terrible creature would terrorize a bunch of young people. This will make for an extremely interesting film.
Alien: Romulus Trailer
As of the publishing of this article, no formal trailer has been made available. However, it hasn’t stopped content producers and YouTubers from assembling their own fan-made trailers, many of which are already available for viewing on YouTube. However, the official trailer should likely be released sometime in the next several months for those who would rather wait for it.
