His debut in the realm of cinema occurred with the 1972 film “Kaamna,” directed by K Chatterjee.
With a prolific career spanning numerous albums and compilations, Udhas has made significant contributions to Hindi cinema, lending his mellifluous voice to memorable films such as “Naam,” “Saajan,” and “Mohra.” While maintaining a presence in the ghazal circuit through live performances, his most recent venture as a playback singer was for the 2016 film “Dil Toh Deewana Hai.”
