Sing Sing’s precise release date is still unknown, but we do know that it will debut exclusively in US theaters in July. As of the time of publishing, there is no confirmed release date for the UK; however, we will keep you informed as more details become available.

Here is the official synopsis of Sing Sing:

“Divine G (Colman Domingo), imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group with other incarcerated men. When a wary outsider joins the group, the men decide to stage their first original comedy, in this stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.”

Colman Domingo leads the cast of “Sing Sing”, bolstered by his impressive resume in Hollywood, including an Emmy win for “Euphoria” and roles in notable projects like “Fear the Walking Dead”, “Candyman”, and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.

Joining Domingo are Clarence Maclin and Sean Dino Johnson, both making their big screen debuts after real-life transformations through the theater program at Sing Sing.

Completing the main cast are Paul Raci, an Oscar nominee for “Sound of Metal”, and Sean San José, known for his role in “The Other Barrio”. Together, they bring depth and authenticity to this compelling story of redemption and resilience.

Kwedar’s résumé just lists Sing Sing and Transpecos as features, not many things. On the other hand, he has directed several short films and won multiple accolades at film festivals.
