After its acquisition by Focus Features, “The Bikeriders” has been slated for release on Friday, June 21, 2024, marking a delay from its original release date by over six months. The film will face competition from Justin Baldoni’s adaptation of “It Ends With Us,” featuring Blake Lively.

Initially scheduled for release on December 1, 2023, under 20th Century Studios, the film encountered delays, prompting Disney and 20th Century Studios to remove it from their release calendar. This decision came following the financial disappointment of their previous collaboration, “The Creator.”

“The Bikeriders” boasts an impressive cast, with Jeff Nichols reuniting with longtime collaborator Michael Shannon, who portrays Zipco. Tom Hardy stars as Johnny, leader of the Vandals MC, while Austin Butler joins as Benny, a new member. Jodie Comer plays Kathy, Benny’s girlfriend. Other notable additions include Boyd Holbrook, Norman Reedus, Mike Faist, Damon Herriman, Toby Wallace, Emory Cohen, Beau Knapp, Karl Glusman, and Happy Anderson.

The Bikeriders follows the rise of a midwestern motorcycle club, the Vandals. Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.

Is There a Trailer for ‘The Bikeriders’?

The official trailer for “The Bikeriders” was initially released by 20th Century Studios on September 6, 2023, offering audiences a first glimpse of the film. Focus Features followed suit with their version on December 18, with minimal changes from the original. A second trailer from Focus Features debuted on February 29, 2024, further igniting anticipation for the film’s release.

The Director

Jeff Nichols, renowned for directing acclaimed films like “Shotgun Stories,” “Take Shelter,” “Mud,” “Midnight Special,” and “Loving,” is set to make his highly anticipated return to filmmaking with “The Bikeriders.” Nichols will also pen the screenplay, adapting Daniel Lyon’s book. The film boasts an impressive crew, including editing by Julie Monroe (“Only Murders in the Building”), production design by Chad Keith (“Scream”), and costume design by Erin Benach (“Birds of Prey”). Adam Stone, a longtime collaborator with Nichols on his previous works, will reunite with the director as the cinematographer for this project.
