The newest Star Wars series,The Acolyte,” has unveiled its first trailer on Disney+, as reported by Screen Rant. The one-minute and forty-five-second teaser begins with Lee Jung-jae’s character, Sol, a Jedi from the High Republic era. Notably, the dialogue in the trailer bears resemblance to that of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” In the footage, Sol instructs younglings from the High Republic to shut their eyes, encouraging them to delve inward and establish a connection with the Force. The younglings follow his guidance, sharing their visions with Sol.

The trailer also features a young girl from the Jedi Order expressing that all she sees when she looks inward is fire. This character later evolves into Amandla Stenberg’s role in the story. As the plot progresses, this Jedi apprentice embarks on a quest to track down and confront a mysterious killer, systematically eliminating them one by one. The tension escalates as the Jedi draw their distinct multicolored lightsabers in preparation to confront the assassin, who wields a menacing red lightsaber.

Disney+ has announced that “Star Wars: The Acolyte” is set to premiere on June 4, 2024. The series has been spearheaded by creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland. Joining her as executive producers are Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, Kathleen Kennedy, and Jason Micallef. Additionally, Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana will serve as co-executive producers, while Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson take on the roles of producers for this highly anticipated project.

“Star Wars: The Acolyte” boasts a star-studded cast including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Dafne Keen. Joining them are Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The series delves into the High Republic era of the Star Wars universe, unfolding events before those depicted in the main movies of the Skywalker Saga. It explores a time when the Jedi Order was at its zenith, dominating the galaxy, yet facing looming threats from unknown evils in the outer rims of civilization.
