‘Doctor Who’ Trailer: Ncuti Gatwa Meets Dinosaurs and Travels

Disney+ has unveiled the debut trailer for its series revival of the beloved sci-fi adventure “Doctor Who,” featuring “Sex Education” actor Ncuti Gatwa as the iconic time traveler and Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday. The show is set to premiere globally on Disney+ on May 10, except in the U.K. where it will be available on BBC iPlayer starting at midnight GMT on May 11.

The confirmed cast includes Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson, Aneurin Barnard, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma, and Angela Wynter.

‘Doctor Who’ Trailer:

The trailer for the upcoming “Doctor Who” series showcases the 15th Doctor and Ruby embarking on thrilling adventures, from roaming with dinosaurs to ballroom dancing in Victorian England and battling alien creatures in a war-torn future. In a glimpse of the climactic finale, Ruby confidently declares, “…to realize what I am meant to do. I’m going to save the world.”

In a conversation with Variety, veteran series creator Russel T. Davies, who is returning as showrunner, executive producer, and writer, shared his enthusiasm for revisiting the “Doctor Who” universe.

“I’m thrilled to finally unveil a brand-new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s joint escapades,” Davies exclaimed. “Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a chilling secret that has spanned time and space for generations. Don’t miss a moment!”

“Doctor Who” is being produced by Bad Wolf in collaboration with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. Executive producers include Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner, and Jane Tranter. The new season will feature episodes directed by Ben Chessell, Jamie Donoughue, Julie Anne Robinson, and Dylan Holmes Williams.
