Although CEO of Riot Games Nicolo Laurent had before stated that the six-year wait for the first season would not be repeated, he later withdrew that statement.
Speaking to LPL caster Guan Zeyuan (via Esports.gg) in April 2023, Laurent said he had seen the third episode of season two, and confirmed that the team were “making progress on it”.
“Honestly, we didn’t know if season one was gonna be a success,” he said. “If I had known, we could have started season two way earlier. But we didn’t know, so we kind of waited a bit. Now we’re paying the price.”

Arcane season 2 plot
Arcane, set in the League of Legends universe, delves into the origins of characters from Piltover and Zaun. Season one ended explosively, leaving many plot threads dangling for season two. With Silco dead, Zaun lacks a leader, potentially leaving Vi to step up. Jinx’s reckless actions may spark war between the cities, complicating her relationship with Vi. Reed Shannon hopes to see Ekko and Mel interact, exploring societal dynamics without racial divides. The creators hint at more stories, possibly in movie format. Season two will delve deeper into Caitlyn and Vi’s relationship, promising exciting developments. Arcane remains committed to diverse storytelling, reflecting the diverse world of Runeterra.

In the video immediately above, viewers get their first look at Warwick, the werewolf-turned-human who prowls Zaun’s streets, in the insane chemist Singed’s lab.
We will have to wait till the first official trailer drops for further information as Sisters Vi and Jinx, Jayce, and the rest of the season one cast of Arcane are not included in this first glimpse.
