The first trailer for Vertical’s forthcoming horror movie, The Exorcism, starring Ryan Simpkins and Russell Crowe, has been released. The focus of the clip is Anthony Miller, played by Russell Crowe, an actor battling personal issues while filming a supernatural horror film. In her portrayal of Miller’s estranged daughter, Simpkins raises concerns about the cause of his breakdown.
Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, Adrian Pasdar, David Hyde Pierce, Tracey Bonner, and Josh Warren are also in the cast. Having recently returned to the role of Jake Sully in James Cameron’s multibillion-dollar Avatar franchise, this is Worthington’s first horror picture.

The Exorcism continues Crowe’s recent venture into the horror genre, which began with his appearances in Sleeping Dogs (2024) and The Pope’s Exorcist (2023). Simpkins brings her experience in the genre to the table, having worked on horror films such as Hangman (2015) and the Fear Street trilogy.

Joshua John Miller serves as director and co-wrote the script with his partner M.A. Fortin. The Exorcism marks Miller and Fortin’s second feature, after the 2015 horror comedy The Final Girls.
The Exorcism is currently scheduled for release on 7 June, 2024.
