The audience is waiting with bated breaths for the release of the prequel to the much-loved 2019 musical film The Lion King. It will tell the tale of a young Mufasa and his sibling Scar, presumably documenting how their equation turned sour. Now, the popular chat show Good Morning America (GMA) has taken the excitement of the masses a notch higher. First Look of Mufasa: The Lion King Is Out. They unveiled the official picture of a young Mufasa from the upcoming movie and announced the trailer would be released on April 30.

On April 28, GMA dropped an adorable animated image of Mufasa during his days as a lion cub on X (formerly Twitter). The note accompanying the post read, “TOMORROW: The trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King” will debut exclusively on GMA!” The photo captured Mufasa leaping from a leafless tree with an unmissable joy on his face.
Social media users wasted no time reacting to the announcement. “At what time? So excited about this film!!” commented one enthusiastic individual. “This will be The Godfather Part II of the Lion King movies,” asserted a confident fan. Others showed their eagerness by dropping multiple red heart emojis.
The Lion King Teaser
Directed by Barry Jenkins and produced under the banners of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Mufasa: The Lion King, much like its prequel, is adapted from the 1994 film The Lion King, helmed collaboratively by Rob Minkoff and Roger Allers. While Aaron Pierre will lend his voice to the titular character of Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. will voice Scar. Other actors as voice artists include Billy Eichner as Timon—the meerkat; Seth Rogen as Pumbaa—the warthog; John Kani as Rafiki—the wise baboon; and Jeremy Irons and Chiwetel Ejiofor in unidentified roles.
