‘Baahubali 2’ was one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2017, especially since its predecessor ended with a significant cliffhanger that left audiences eagerly anticipating what would happen next. Upon its release, the film was shown on an unprecedented scale, premiering on over 9,000 screens globally, which included 6,500 screens across India. This massive release set a new record for the broadest distribution of any Indian film up to that time.

Financially, ‘Baahubali 2’ achieved extraordinary success. It earned between Rs 1,737.68 crore and ₹1,810.60 crore worldwide, which translates to approximately Rs 256.26 to Rs 267.01 million, overtaking the 2014 film ‘PK’ to briefly claim the title of the highest-grossing Indian film ever made. Remarkably, it collected around Rs 789 crore (about US$99 million) worldwide in just the first six days of its release. It was the first Indian film to surpass the Rs 1,000 crore mark (about US$130 million), reaching this milestone within just ten days.
